SoundExplorationFremantle: playing in time with Naoko Uemoto

SoundExplorationFremantle coordinates workshops led by respected practitioners of improvised musics.  Participants listen, explore, and create, using an eclectic range of sound-making objects, musical and other instruments, and our voices.  SEF workshops suit people with all levels of experience (or none) in music and/or improvisation.

Naoko Uemoto will present a workshop exploring movement as an extension of expressive rhythm; she’ll guide us through ways of bringing or creating the energy rather than waiting to react to it – and, we’ll delve into feeling the beat as a social phenomenon, and ways to incorporate this into an improvised setting.
