A Book of Hours is a revelatory screen-dance presentation that features stop-motion film, together with on-stage and filmed choreography. The live classical contemporary soundtrack is performed by the Melbourne-based Rubiks Collective, Australia’s most dynamic and vibrant new music ensemble. The stop-motion video works are created by visual artist Sal Cooper and choreographer Gerard Van Dyck. Join the Composition and Sonic Arts students for a showcase of outstanding new works for acoustic and electronic instruments created by our composers and composer/performers. WAAPA is home to one of the largest Composition and Sonic Arts programs in Australia, providing exceptional training for composers and sound artists in concert and experimental music, electronica, popular, jazz, film and stage music. The concert features new works for chamber ensembles, the hearNOW Art Orchestra, film soundtracks, interactive music and video, and other collaborations.
