Tone List and Cool Change Contemporary host the opening of “Put ‘em in a box”, an exhibition of a creative process coordinated by Taiwanese curator Shih Ya Tien. Expansive sound collage, poetic reflections, and nuanced folk provide a soft final landing place for those at the end of a big festival weekend; or a perfect Sunday outing for homebodies! Melbourne-based composer, performer and researcher Iran Sanadzadeh presents electronic music from her debut album Ocean, Again, performed on terpsichora floors. This electronic instrument – a set of pressure-sensitive wooden platforms with sensors controlled by whole-body movement – follows on from the work of pioneering Australian dancer Philippa Cullen. Sanadzadeh’s interactive performance is a deeply innovative exploration of the relationship between movement and sound.

In celebration of the 30th anniversary of David Lynch’s Twin Peaks film Fire Walk With Me (1992), WA-founded new music ensemble Decibel transforms PICA into a progressive concert environment teeming with red velvet and darkened portals in Twin Peaks Was 30. Experience a series of unfolding compositions in a unique concert environment that pays tribute to the theme song’s composer, Angelo Badalamenti, and featured singer, Julee Cruise, with a 30-minute reworking of the original film score.
