SINE is the provocation of sound made visual. SINE is a mathematical series where the operation adds infinite quantities to a given equation. Mathematics, music and visual art expand common threads of thinking and expression around thoughts of order. Artist, musician, maker combine to mediate expressions through material object, instrument, performance, and the graphic to form the exhibition SINE at Wallace. Fremantle Biennale: The Port’s Call

Fremantle’s Inner Harbour will be transformed by The Port’s Call, an expansive sonic installation by Thomas Supple and Byron J Scullin. Beginning at dawn on the first day of the Biennale and continuing until dusk on Sunday 12 November, the arrival and departure of each large vessel (regardless of the time of day), will be signalled by a bespoke soundscape. With each passing vessel, a continually changing symphony of sound, using long-range acoustic technology, will echo throughout the Port. Close to the submerged remnants of the Fremantle Long Jetty, an immersive re-telling of arrival and separation will unfold. So once you were here they had you is an experiential audio-visual poem to the 50 young cotton-weaver women who arrived on the shores of Walyalup, journeying by ship from Lancashire over 110 days and nights in 1863.
