SUMMARY:Outcome Unknown 109
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Lightworks\, one of the few remaining Artist-Run-Initiatives in the Perth CBD\, for the next Outcome Unknown!Featuring solo sets by Kyla-Rae Ashworth\, Callum O’Reilly\, and Pedro Alvarez.7pm\, Thursday 5 March112 Murray Street\, PerthEntry: $15/$20/$25/$30 (pay see what you can)This concert is part of REDACTION TOOLKIT a collaborative\, interdisciplinary visual arts exhibition by Stirling Kain\, Harrison Waed See\, Jordee Stewart\, and Jacob Canet-Gibson. KYLA-RAE ASWORTH is a musician\, performer and educator. She is active across a wide range of performance spaces\, including classical\, folk\, contemporary/experimental and improvisation. Kyla-Rae has performed and toured internationally with both the Australian Youth Orchestra and the West Australian Youth Orchestra across Europe\, China\, Japan and Singapore. PEDRO ALVAREZ is an independent composer\, improviser\, educator and activist born in Chile. Having been professionally trained in the European classical tradition\, in recent years his musical practice has increasingly focused on free improvisation and Andean folk music\, looking for meaningful ways of articulating these three musical streams in his creative work. CALLUM O’REILLY is a composer\, multi-instrumentalist\, and multimedia artist. He enjoys pushing traditional convention and contorting the limits of the classical ensemble. He incorporates elements of electronic music\, hip-hop\, pop\, and modern jazz\, creating sonic worlds that are original and deeply embedded in modern culture while also murmuring the musical legacy of the past. ACCESSIBILITY: The venue is not wheelchair accessible. There are two flights of steps leading to the small exhibition space. Cushions and some chairs will be provided. Toilets are located inside the space.Photo of Lightworks and design by Eduardo Cossio

SUMMARY:ALT. pres VIDEOPOLIS [FR] & PTMC
DESCRIPTION:VOLTA [live electronics] PRESENTS VIDEOPOLIS [FR]  \nWorld renowned French audiovisual artists Franck Vigroux and Antoine Schmitt present their new live performance VIDEOPOLIS.  \nA powerful live audiovisual duo\, blending intense electronic sound with generative visual systems. Vigroux’s raw\, physical approach to electronic music meets Schmitt’s algorithmic and conceptual visual art\, creating performances that explore tension\, rhythm\, and control. Together\, they craft immersive\, high-impact AV experiences where sound and image interact as a single\, evolving structure. Their very last work Videopolis emerges from the chaos of a world overwhelmed by images corrupted by dark forces. These images saturate both the visual and cognitive fields to better manipulate the masses\, rendered docile. Toxic algorithms metastasize all truths ; blur spreads across perception\, and viewpoints cancel one another out. This raises a fundamental question : how can Vidéopolis be countered? \nWith support from local composer/producer PTMC. \n  \nACCESSIBILITY: Note that strobe lights are used in this event.
