Audible Edge ’24: After Lili
State Library of Western Australia 25 Francis St, Perth, WAAfter Lili is a homely crossover of a solo piano concert, crip hangout space, and 6-hour durational performance art. It explores disabled cultural histories and everyday self-advocacy, in recognition of the French composer Lili Boulanger (1893 - 1918). Boulanger wrote contemplative and expressive music, with ambitious structures that embedded her own crip time living with chronic illnesses. She is remembered for her professional achievements whilst challenging reductive perceptions of women composers, and passed away when she was 24.
