Ghost Tunes is a collaborative arts project created by sound artists and writers from Australia and Scotland, exploring language, landscape and culture. Currently part of the Fremantle Arts Centre residency program, Ghost Tunes artists include Cass Lynch (Boorloo/Perth), Mei Swan Lim, Madeleine Flynn and Tim Humphrey (Naarm/Melbourne), Theresa Sainty (Lutruwita/Tasmania), Cass Ezeji (Scotland), Quinie (Scotland), in collaboration with Counterflows – an internationally acclaimed Glasgow-based contemporary music festival. Outcome Unknown on July 27 features the classical technique, jazz vocabulary and experimental approaches of DUOFOLD, the project of pianist and composer Tiffany Ha and sound artist Joseph Walsh. Spoken word and cello atmospherics from writer-performer Zoë Barron and musician Fiona Hook as TEACUP WEATHER. And intractable noise from FURCHICK & NATHAN in their first performance since the release of 'How Divers Descend to the Depths' on Dog Park Records. Doors open at 7pm and music starts at 7.45pm.

Join us for Weekends at PICA, a morning filled with coffee, performance and conversation with PICA’s Djilba/Kambarang artist Sancintya Mohini Simpson. Simpson will present An exhalation: communicating with my ancestors through DNA and an ocean re-remembered. This experimental sound performance incorporates stainless steel vessels, water, salt, the body and breath, creating space to connect with ancestors by reimagining and recreating an ocean space.
