The program traces a line from conceptual composition to scorched-earth noise praxis to the outer edges of contemporary rap.\n\n\nFrom Yogyakarta arrives Aditya Pandu Wijaya\, a key figure in Indonesia’s noise vanguard and the force behind Bergegas Mati\, his harsh-noise vehicle known for its eroding\, heat-warped extremity. Pandu’s networked practice spans global collaborations\, split releases\, raw-collage digital art and his cassette-driven imprint Gerpfast Records\, which has quietly become a clearing house for scenes that refuse to align – shoegaze\, hardcore\, metal\, electronica and the vast detritus between. His new project\, D.O.V.E.\, pushes further into violent oscillatory abrasion\, reaffirming noise as both rupture and communion. \nCutting through these intensities is Pette Shabu\, the Quezon City rapper shaping a distinctly Southeast Asian reading of experimental hip-hop. Her work fuses boom-bap\, metal\, ballroom\, industrial and rave architectures into a kind of incendiary vernacular theatre – language as protest\, pulse and provocation. On her recent debut SPRAK\, she fractures genre into a riotous\, multilingual cipher: political\, playful\, deeply embodied. Live\, Pette operates at a threshold where club energy collides with underground poetics\, a charged presence carving out new trajectories for regional rap. \nFailing Upwards\, the ongoing alias of Chris Cobilis\, works in the long shadow of late-20th-century conceptualism\, folding film scoring\, installation and procedural performance into a practice that treats sound as both material and thought experiment. From self-duplicated record-shop replicas to the multi-device micro-drama of INSTAPHONICS\, Chris navigates the frayed interfaces between technology\, perception and non-music with a misanthropic humour that feels increasingly diagnostic. \nBen Aguero selects some recorded music on the night\, playing selections before and between performances. \nTogether\, these artists outline a terrain where form blurs\, pressure builds and sound becomes a vector for instability\, resistance and raw proposition. \nPart of Summit at Lawson Flats – an unmissable series for the curious and thoughtful.
