DESCRIPTION:Join us for a Soundwalk with Radio DADAA’s Ryan Borrett \nWhere: DADAA Fremantle and surrounds.\nMeet at the DADAA courtyard. \nWhen: Saturday 14 February \nTime: 10am – 11.30am \nThe walk will go for approximate 45 minutes \n  \nImmerse yourself in the unique sounds of Fremantle as we walk\, listen and discover with our ears. A Soundwalk is an activity ‘whose main purpose is to listen to the environment\, exposing your ears to every sound around us no matter where we are.’ \n  \nThis will be a guided sonic tour offering participants the chance to explore on their own. We will meet outside DADAA Fremantle and then gather for sharing session inside the DADAA building after the walk. You are welcome to bring a recording device (phones can work)\, or just you and your ears! \nFree Entry\, all welcome. \nThis is a satellite event of the radio DADAA launch happening on Wednesday night 11 February\, and one of many radio DADAA events to come. Link to the radio DADAA launch event page here. \n__ \n“Walk so silently that the bottoms of your feet become ears.” \nPauline Oliveros \n__ \nAbout Ryan Borrett: \n  \nRyan Borrett is a PhD student studying soundscape ecology at Murdoch University with the ARC Centre for Healing Country. Parts of his project include monitoring threatened wetlands using ecoacoustics\, and exploring how sharing and engaging in soundscapes can benefit nature and people. He has previously worked as a science communicator and journalist. Ryan is also a musician\, playing in local bands and his own project Brushtail over the last decade\, and runs the record label Rockton Records where he organises and promotes artists and events.
