SUMMARY:W. Sze Tsang Site-Specific Residency Performance - The Last Stand
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a final performance\, two weeks from now; on Sunday\, 12 Oct 4-6 pm. The culmination of Sze’s Site-Specific Residency; WIP – The Last Remaining Stand. \nSze will be performing ’The Last Stand’\, a digital haunting in two parts: constructed from field recordings\, 3D scanning and an autonomous digital instrument made from a map of the area. \nAbout the artist: \nW. Sze Tsang / samarobryn is an audio-visual artist working across temporalities and histories. Tsang’s practice explores how combining sounds\, visuals\, geospatial information and environmental data can express the multi-layered narratives on history and climate within place. \nThe Site-Specific Residency is a paid opportunity\, and realised through our open call and the generous donations of artists and the community. These paid opportunities are the backbone of our programming. CURRENT recognises the time\, intellect\, labour and skill that an artist/creative/curator expends in creating works and making them available to the public. We hope to lead by example\, paying artists for their contribution to society and creating the change we wish to see. We wish that these programmes can lead to debate and dialogue around contemporary practice and its future. \nAll programmes aim to empower artists who are challenging the formats\, the boundaries and the way the space is occupied and used. \nThanks to our partners Otherside Brewing and Freo Doctor for continuing support for our gallery events.
