Revivification

Revivification is an extraordinary immersive exhibition combining sound and cutting-edge biological innovation to bring to life the musical genius of a deceased composer. Four years in the making, Revivification delivers a historic first: the in-vitro (external) ‘brain’ of the late composer Alvin Lucier (1931-2021) creating a new work in real time, as a live performance over the duration of the exhibition. Join the Composition and Sonic Arts students for a showcase of outstanding new works for acoustic and electronic instruments created by our composers and composer/performers. WAAPA is home to one of the largest Composition and Sonic Arts programs in Australia, providing exceptional training for composers and sound artists in concert and experimental music, electronica, popular, jazz, film and stage music. The concert features new works for chamber ensembles, the hearNOW Art Orchestra, film soundtracks, interactive music and video, and other collaborations.
