SUMMARY:Conditions of Growth
DESCRIPTION:A tapestry of exquisite contemporary chamber music\, sensor driven lighting and projected generative animation\, Conditions of Growth is a new collaborative performance project presented by Ad Lib Collective. Working with the music of Ravel and Rossen the work holds the seeds of connection to the things that need nurturing. Small tendrils of sound\, granular close-ups\, and full body sound experiences offer us a space to consider what the conditions are that we need to quietly grow. \nRepertoire: \n\nMiroirs Suite – Maurice Ravel\, arr. John Rotar for Piano and Percussion\nOchre for massed flowerpots\, bells and sensor driven LED lights – Thea Rossen (world premiere)\n\nConditions of Growth is created by percussionist/composer Thea Rossen and media artist Sohan Ariel Hayes in collaboration with: \n\nPiano: Alex Raineri\nElectronics and coding design: Nick Stark\nProducer: Holly Norman\nLighting Design: Alex Spartalis GSD\nVideography: Andrew Clarke – Edify Media \n\nBar open 7.30pm\, \nPerformance 8-8:50pm \nBar remains open until 9.30pm after the show. \nWine sales available  [NB. cashless purchases only] \nThe performance will last for 50minutes\, there is no interval. \nSupported by the Minderoo Foundation and Holmes à Court Gallery @ no. 10 with partnerships from Australian National Academy of Music\, All Saints College\, Wesley College. \nIf you’d like to support the creation of this new West Australian work\, please consider making a tax deductible donation to our Australian Cultural Fund Campaign here. \nAccessibility: \nThe venue is one open gallery warehouse space\, there is wheelchair access throughout the venue including to the bathrooms. \nThe lighting design will be very dark at times\, and while there is no strobing\, lighting states will shift throughout. \nThe venue is not temperature controlled\, so dress warm on the night if it is cool weather. \nParking is likely to be limited on Friday night in particular due to another festival-like event going on in the area. Please arrive early to secure a spot or consider public transport\, or ride share services.
