Marking the 80th and 100th anniversary of Roger Smalley AM and György Ligeti respectively, this 2-day symposium features key-note addresses by Professor Amy Bauer (USA) and Dr Chris Mark (UK) as Institute of Advanced Studies Visiting Scholars. Other speakers include: Dr Adam Pinto (UWA), Dr Paul Tanner (UWA), Dr Stuart James (WAAPA), Dr Federico Favali (Italy).

The final event of the 7 Year Anniversary will feature a performance by Ross Bolleter & Eduardo Cossio on ruined pianos and zithers respectively; a photobook launch by Antoinette Carrier; and a solo saxophone set by Naoko Uemoto. Uboa is the solo drone/noise project of Xandra Metcalfe, Naarm/Melbourne-based sound artist specialising in both dreamy ambience and nightmarish caverns of harsh noise. A testament to Uboa's intense live shows, she will be touring the East Coast this year with Liturgy (US) having recently shared the stage with DIS FIG (Berlin), previously opening for Gabber Modus Operandi (ID) and Trepaneringsritualen (SW).
