Pouring Dream is proud to present an afternoon of deep ambience at The Bird.
Featuring live performances by:
SODA LITE (Nipaluna/Tas) Not Not Fun/Inner Islands
Soda Lite is the new age/ambient project of Alex Last, with their latest record ‘Aqua Solar Cura’ released by the legendary Californian record label Not Not Fun. The record’s a 44-minute deep dive through lutruwita’s ecological landscapes, empowered and influenced by its diverse wildlife and eucalypt valleys. Eschewing formal song routes, Soda Lite’s music prefers to tremor and bubble, sometimes evolving and often drifting, unravelling slowly like oozing sap while awash in the vibrant pulse of birdsong and an array of instruments generated by a pair of old 90s keyboards. The incredible ‘Aqua Solar Cura’ can be heard here:

PALE RIBBONS TOSSED INTO THE DARK
Pale Ribbons Tossed into the Dark are the instrumental trio of Michael Terren, Djuna Lee, and Jameson Feakes. Each player is heavily involved in Boorloo/Perth’s exploratory music scene, Lee as a jazz bandleader (jalan jalan, Rif Mountain), Feakes as a guitarist in various projects (Heathcote Blue, GreyWing Ensemble), and Terren as an experimental electronic musician and pianist. Together, their work is informed by traditions like post rock, ambient, improvised music and electro-acoustic music, while unbeholden to any of them. Pale Ribbon’s immersive, intricate & therapeutic self-titled debut Long player can be heard here:

SLOW POINT
Formed in 2016, Slow Point is the solo experimental project of Perth based Glenn Palmer (Mt. Mountain). Rooted in electronic minimalism, Slow Point explores influences from the worlds of Ambient, Drone and Krautrock – creating immersive and textural walls of all-encompassing sound, through the use of modular synthesis. Slow Point’s latest offering ‘Garden’ continues their form of creating beautiful, considered and quite frankly mind-blowing compositions:
