Decibel + Lionel Marchetti – Inland Lake

We’re back at The Rechabite, Perth on 6 November with Inland Lake (le lac intérieur) – a 45-min electroacoustic work composed in 2022 by Lionel Marchetti in collaboration with Decibel.
Written for ensemble and partition concrète – a fixed media part that functions as score, soundtrack, and ensemble member. Instruments weave in and out of a multi-speaker sound field, threaded with harmonicas, ocarinas, singing bowls, strings and winds in a performance that reimagines ‘acoustic ambient’ form.
The work is accompanied by Karl Ockelford’s film, created for the Room40 release, with new 3D projection design by Sohan Ariel Hayes.
