Mystery & Wonder Presents:
residues / Lyndon Blue / The Fan Band
Wednesday 29 May, 2024
doors 7:30PM / music 8:15 / $15
The Bird (181 William Street)

A night of experimental rock, song writing and oscillating fans.

residues is an experimental rock band trying to fulfil the dream of a song-based music that never sounds the same twice. It is the latest project of Boorloo-via-Montreal musician Craig Pedersen (electric bass, voice), featuring a supergroup of Perth musical weirdos: Chris Cobilis (guitar), Djuna Lee (acoustic bass), Michael Terren (keyboard), Sage Pbbbt (drums) and Josten Myburgh (drums). Craig is known for his work as a free-improvising trumpet player, member of the experimental duo Sound of the Mountain, performances and recordings with Godspeed You! Black Emperor, and a compositional output embodying the dream of an ever-shifting body of work, flexible to the expressive needs of the present.

Lyndon Blue makes weird pop songs in the back room. For fans of Antipodean post-punk, sprawling art-pop and homespun disco. Known for their contributions to numerous projects in Boorloo and beyond (including Spice World, Heathcote Blue, Leafy Suburbs; Methyl Ethel, tenforward and Vanishing Island Group), Lyndon will perform the rarest of rare solo sets featuring new music from an upcoming recording devised with a wild, expanded live band.

The Fan Band is a project by Cara TG, a Walyalup based visual and sound artist. She has a fan club.
